News

Only Monsters' has recently finish the trilogy of EPs that started in the summer of 2024. These three EPs represent the culmination of Only Monsters work as an independent artist and the themes of Only Monsters' music. In June 2025, a compilation album, "Past, Present, and Obsolescence" will be released with all tracks re-released. This project has been inspired by the past and present of goth, darkwave, and post-punk music with particular adoration for The Cure, TRAITRS, Death Bells, and the local Washington music scene.

Latest Reviews

"In their latest full-length effort, “No One Hears, No One Sees,” Only Monsters craft a stark narrative arc that mirrors the tumultuous nature of our current era, weaving together themes of existential dread, resistance, and the search for meaning amidst chaos wrapped in a minimalist, almost dark folk oeuvre with a subtle amber glow, hits the ears like whiskey poured into a glass filled by Tom Waits or Nick Cave, louched by American indie rock and post-punk. - Post-Punk.com

"No One Hears, No One Sees” is more than just a collection of songs; it is a sonic odyssey that traverses the terrain of the soul. With its richly textured soundscapes and deeply reflective lyrics, the album invites listeners to pause and ponder, to find solace in shared struggles, and perhaps to emerge with a renewed sense of purpose and connection." - B-Side Guys

"The night grows cold and dark thereafter, in lyrical and atmospheric form, cementing its atmospheric chilliness. No One Hears, No One Sees is a moody, melodically enthralling success from Only Monsters, representing another success from the project following last year’s album Influence." - Obscure Sound
